Q: Can my clock be fixed?

A: Just about any clock can be fixed.  (There are some exceptions, of course.)

Q: Is my clock worth fixing?

A: If your clock is important to you, yes! I fix many sentimental and heirloom clocks.  Clocks that have been passed down a few generations; clocks that bring back memories with the sounds of hourly chimes; these are family reminders that can definitely be restored and saved.  However, the market value of clocks is a fraction of what it was 30 years ago.  If you are hoping to fix a clock and then resell it – most of the time you will not be able to recoup your investment.

Q: Can you provide me with an estimate to repair my clock?

A: Yes. I can make an estimate via email based on your detailed inquiry.  The estimate will be the higher end of the range, until I can actually look at the clock.  I do not charge for extra time spent, so you will usually know the maximum cost.  Parts that have to be purchased or rebuilt can add to the cost of a overhaul / cleaning.
